BlastPass FAQ
WHAT IS BLASTPASS?
BlastPass is a cashless option for food and beverages that uses RFID technology that stores your credits for an easy payment process. BlastPass saves you time and stress with no need for cash at the fair!
WHAT IS RFID?
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. In simple terms, it’s a short-range digital chip that can store small amounts of data. You might have already come across RFID before – it’s the same technology used in many contactless payment and transport systems worldwide.
HOW DO THE CARDS WORK?
Credits are stored on your card. As you make purchases with vendors the credits are deducted from the card. At every location you are able to see the amount deducted and the amount left on your card. If you run out of credits you can always add more at the BlastPass Refilling Stations.
ARE THERE ANY FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE BLASTPASS?
There is a $2 activation fee upon your initial purchase of the card. There are no fees for additional top ups throughout the event. Each year you bring the card back, a $2 activation fee will be applied for the new event year. This fee covers the price of the card and the technology used to track and manage the credits tied to each card.
